Chopper Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Popular California Shoreline
A helicopter soaring near a well-attended coastal shoreline abruptly started spinning uncontrollably, eventually losing altitude and smashing into a row of palm groves as spectators watched.
Videos uploaded on the internet show the aircraft starting to spin near the shoreline then plunging towards the edge of the beach, where it ends up lodged among palm groves and a staircase near the shoreline route.
Emergency Response Information
The Huntington Beach fire department said five individuals were taken to hospital involving a pair who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the incident on that day.
Three people on the pavement were injured. Specifics on their wounds were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.
